I suppose it is only right I follow up on my previous posting about the speculation of what would have made Scoble cry. Well, FastCompany.tv has launched and with it the video footage he promised. Having taken the time yesterday (or at least in the early hours of this morning) to see the footage I have to say I wasn’t necessarily moved to tears, but I can see ...

As a PM the Issue Log along with the Risk Log are two of your most valuable tools when it comes to communication about your project. The Issue Log should probably be your most public-facing document. It should be strictly under your control; even if you work with a Project Office you, as the PM retain ownership and responsibility for content, availability, version control and maintenance of this ...

The very essence of project management is about guiding your project through the tricky waters of risks and issues that do arise, to dock safely at port. In the same way you can't steer a ship through merky/shallow waters without a map, you can not expect to be in control of a project without a Risk or Issues Log - no matter what the size of your project.
For ...

Let me start off by saying how pleased I was to see Wales win their 3rd consecutive game of the 6 Nations championship, meaning the Grand Slam is currently theirs - and only theirs for the loosing - not, as the BBC might have you think, for England to win! Anyway, this aside, it was a great game. I do however, have a question. What exactly is being displayed on the 2 Macbook's ...

Whilst viewing the new OmniFocus intro video I find it vaguely fascinating that in the background there are books by Nigel Slater and Nigella Lawson. Is it me or all "productivity" enthusiasts just as fascinated by food?
View OmniFocus Beginners Video
On a slightly different note, if you haven't played around with OmniFocus yet, I whole heartedly recommend it. I was first switched on to it by Merlin and have to say I find it a really useful, intuitive ...

As if it wasn't enough that Scoble's post sparked wide-spread debate on the net a couple of days ago, isn't it funny how that can in turn spark an email debate within the four walls that I work?
Here's what I am talking about. A bit of background: This all started when I read Robert's original posting and forwarded the link over to a colleague, who whilst a developer, has a keen technological interest. From ...

I can not believe I am reading this today:
“Tesco is also cutting the price of standard whole birds from £3.30 to £1.99 to ensure shoppers on a budget also benefit. This lower price will mean families can sit down to roast chicken and all the trimmings for less than £1.00 per person.”
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised really, given it is alleged that one in every eight pounds ...

Hands in the air I'm a believer in the BBC. I do believe - rightly or wrongly - the BBC has a remit which is unique. It's a remit which gives them a high degree of latitude, but thanks to the David Kelly debacle (and when a man's lost his life, that's putting it lightly) a high degree of public responsibility, which opens them up to substantial scrutiny ...

I've owned a Nokia N95. Notice the keyword in that sentence, owned. I owned an N95 for around 3 weeks, before selling it on Ebay; thank goodness for Ebay. For 10 years I was a Nokia owner and thought I would never switch to anything else. However, over the last 3 years I've owned 3 Blackberry's, the current one being the 8800 and I have been so impressed with ...

All I can say... and I don't want to turn into the typical Mac convert is....I started out in Unix - 15 years of it before Windows. Unix was never built to be a desktop experience and IMHO the various incarnations of Linux don't demonstrate a high-level of maturity right now. I'm sure they will in the future, but I can't see them catching up with the Windows ...
