Wordpress 2.5
So, there’s now a sneak peek of Wordpress 2.5 available. I’ve taken a look at it all looks fairly promising. There’s some of the long awaited “stuff” due to land also a significant update to the administration interfaces within the suite. It definately looks promising.
For me, my question is, what about my existing themes? Are they going to continue to work without modification? If they are, then I welcome the upgrade; if they don’t upgrading will have to wait until I have time to look into it. As always, I’m keen to embrace change and progress, but I’m not prepared to compromise uptime for the sake of something which users/viewers will see little benefit of.
The reality is to upgrade will require me cloning my current environment and testing the upgrade against that, before I consider going anywhere near my live environment. That’s all very straight forward and certainly doesn’t stop me going ahead, but as always it is time I need to plan in. I’ll certainly be keen to see the roadmap for when this version will be released. I’ll then be able to plan when to make the upgrade.
What do you think of the new look and the new features? Anything in there which inspires you? Let me know in the comments
